A Kansas City woman is charged in connection to the death of her infant child – whom she allegedly put in an oven. Mariah Thomas is facing a Class A felony of Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the 1st degree, Death of a Child. Responders found the child with apparent burns. The probable cause statement said responders were told by a witness that the mother “put the child down for a nap and accidentally placed her in the oven instead of the crib.” There’s no explanation of how it happened.
