The intersection improvement project at U.S. Route 59 and Alabama Street (Missouri Route 752 and Buchanan County Route U) has been delayed due to pre-construction utility work in the area. The project was scheduled to begin with Stage 1 construction on April 1, but has been delayed until Monday, April 7. Stage 1 will begin on Alabama Street (Route 752) between Route 59 and Sherman Street. This stage will realign Alabama Street on the east side of Route 59. It will also create right turn lanes to and from Route 59 to Alabama Street.
