The Missouri State Highway Patrol says on July 6, 2025, the Moberly Police Department requested the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control investigate a shooting which occurred in the 900 block of East Logan Street, in Moberly, MO. Upon law enforcement arrival, authorities located a female subject deceased at the residence with an apparent gunshot injury. The deceased female was identified as Bailey E. Scott, 23, of Moberly, MO. On July 10, 2025, Division of Drug and Crime Control investigators arrested David K. Heyde, 68, of Moberly, MO. Heyde was transported to the Randolph County Jail. The Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney formally charged Heyde with Second Degree Murder. He is being held without bond.
