With the rising cost of everything and the lack of volunteers, the fire departments of Sullivan County have decided to join forces and create the Sullivan County Fire Protection District. This would be a tax-supported district with a levy of $0.30 for every $100 assessed valuation. To begin this process we need to collect 100 signatures to get this on the April 2026 ballot. If this is something you would like more information on or would be willing to sign the petition to put this on the ballot, please contact your local fire department or a fireman or board member. This will include Browning, Green Castle, Green City, Milan and Winigan fire departments.
