The Kirksville Police Department is happy to report another year of reduced crime in Kirksville for 2025. There were year-to-year decreases in violent crime, aggravated assault, robbery, theft, sexual assault, arson, firearms-related crimes, driving while intoxicated and murder from 2024.
These declines coincide with similar trends over the last five years. Since 2021:
- Sexual assault is down 74 percent
- Theft is down 58 percent
- Burglary is down 57 percent
- Motor vehicle theft is down 40 percent
- Firearms crimes are down 37 percent
- Violent crime is down 35 percent
- Domestic violence is down 31 percent
- Aggravated assault is down 22 percent
- Fraud is down 20 percent
