Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) is thrilled to announce that the 2026 State Summer Games will return to Kirksville, MO, taking place May 29-31 at Truman State University. Along with our presenting sponsor, A.T. Still University, the event will bring together over 700 athletes, coaches, Unified partners, and volunteers from across the state for a weekend of competition, community, and celebration. Athletes will compete in four sports: swimming, volleyball, track & field, and powerlifting. The weekend will kick off with an Opening Ceremony featuring the traditional Parade of Athletes, Law Enforcement Torch Run, and the lighting of the Olympic Cauldron.
