Governor denies clemency to man facing execution for two murders

Governor Mike Parson confirmed that the state of Missouri will carry out the execution of a man accused of killing two jailers during a failed jailbreak of a former cellmate. The Governor denied clemency for Michael Tisius, who faces execution today. The Governor said, “It’s despicable that two dedicated public servants were murdered in a failed attempt to help another criminal evade the law. The state of Missouri will carry out Mr. Tisius’s sentences according to the Supreme Court’s order and deliver justice.” Tisius would become the third person in Missouri to be put to death this year.
