What road work would you like to see in Adair county?

The county’s Transportation Advisory Commission is asking for opinions. The group recommends projects to the state department of transportation, and a couple of recent projects came from the commission’s input to the state.

So between now and May 13th, you can contact the city manager’s officer, or member of the advisory commission with your thoughts.

Staying Behind Bars For Wreck That Killed Kirksville Children

She will stay locked-up. Natasha McBridem who is charged in a wreck in Quincy in 2020 that killed four people, including three young children from Kirksville. The kids were visiting their grandmother and she was also killed when McBride crashed into their vehicle.

Her lawyers asked that she let out of jail on bond, but she is still locked-up on $5million dollars bond, charged with murder. She has pleaded not guilty, and has another hearing on May 24.

Serious Wreck Caused By Animal In The Road

If you see an animal in the road, swerving to avoid it can be dangerous. That was the case in Clark county onSunday afternoon on county road 55.

The patrol says that 37 year old Andrew Clark swerved to avoid an animal in the road and over turned. Not buckled in, he was seriously hurt. So was his passenger, 60 year old Joe Allard.

Moving The Chiefs Out Of Missouri…Wanna Bet?

Place your bets. In Kansas, lawmakers passed a bill to allow sports betting. The goal is to raise money and try to lure the Kansas City Chiefs from the Missouri side…to the Kansas side of the area. The bill allows people in Kansas to use cellphones or computer apps to bet on sporting events and to place bets at state-owned casinos

Two Week Highway Project

Heads-up for road work on Route 6 in Grundy and Sullivan counties. Starts Monday, May 2nd and runs for two weeks. The work to be done from 7am to 7pm. During the work, one lane of Route 6 will be closed in 2-mile sections, and a 14-foot width restriction will be enforced.

What kind of plans for city parks do you want to see in the next decade? Kirksville Parks and Recreation has ‘listening’ sessions planned to get your ideas.

The first will be on June 9 at the Kirksville Aquatic Center. The second session, August 17th at the amphitheater at Rotary park. Meetings are from 5 to 8pm

Adair Ambulence Wrecks.

A wreck involving an Adair county ambulence Monday, as it was transporting a young boy. The patrol says a pick-up pulled into the path of the ambulence. And the impact caused the ambulence to flip on its side on Hwy 65 in Pettis county. The ambulence crew and the 12 year old patient had minor injuries. But the other driver, 21 year old Logan Parker of Sedalia, was seriously hurt and taken to the hospital.

Tons Of Glass Recycled In Kirksville

Alot of glass. The city of Kirksville has recycled more than 200 tons of glass since recycling of glass items started in 2016. The program began with a grant to the city and it has been very successful.

If you want to recycle glass bottles and jars — just pick an approved tote at city hall for 4-bucks. Then the first Monday of each month, set the tote by the curb, and the city will collect the glass.

Looking For Vandal — Kirksville Police Release Photo

Kirksville police are looking for a guy who damaged property, and they have a picture of the suspect on their Facebook page. The surveillance photo was taken in a nearby store where the suspect stopped to buy something.

He’s white — thin hair on top — with a salt and pepper beard. Police hopes somebody can identify him. They did not give details on the property damage they believe he committed.
