A substitute teacher in Moberly posted a picture of a student on social media along with a negative comment about the student.

The school district put out a letter saying the teacher’s action was unacceptable and that “corrective action” would be taken. But they did not say if the teacher gets fired…or faces some other discipline from the incident.

Grain Bin Accident Kills Putnam County Man

In Putnam county, a man died after he was trapped in a grain bin that was nearly fully of soybeans. The body of 61-year-old Bryan Reckrodt was found by rescue crews after more than 90 minutes of searching at the farm near Lemons.

Fatal Wreck: Truck Plows Into Farm Tractor

A man on a farm tractor was killed Wednesday after his tractor was hit by an 18-wheeler on Highway 36.

The State Patrol says the impact caused both vehicles to run off the road and flip over. 62 year old Nels Magnuson was thrown from the tractor and killed. The trucker, 58 year old Robert Ives, had only minor injuries.

Abortion Pills — A Warning From The State AG

State Atty General Andrew Bailey is warning CVS and Walgreens not to sell abortion pills by mail — otherwise they could face legal actions.

Bailey’s one of 20 State Attorneys General signing the letter. He says that selling pills violates federal law and abortion laws in many states. Missouri began abortion restrictions last summer after the Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade

Two Phone Scams: A Bogus Roofer — And Callers Pose As State Patrol

A scam alert put out by the Macon county sheriff about a roofing business.

It’s called Prime Frame Roofing, and the business has been calling residents, but the sheriff’s office says it cannot confirm the business is legit, and the phone number provided doesn’t work.

And a warning about a phone scam from the state patrol. People are getting calls that say, there is a warrant for their arrest and only way to avoid being locked-up is to give the caller money

The caller-ID even says “Missouri State Highway Patrol” — but it’s a trick — the patrol does not call if you have a warrant and they don’t ask for money on fhe phone.

February High: Pot Shops Ready To Open

February will bring a new way of life to Missouri. Legalized weed for sale.

Feb. 6 is the target date for pot shops to start selling recreational marijuana. The state says that most of the medical cannibis shops applied to sell recreational weed. And by Feb 6th, the state has to approve or deny individual licenses.

Once the shops open, if you have a valid ID and you’re 21, you can buy pot.

Gas Prices Continue To Climb

Gas prices are going up. Statewide, the average is $3.18 a gallon. That’s an increase of 7-cents in a week…and 38-cents in a month.

Normally, prices tend to drop in the winter in our area becasue there’s a little less driving.
