Police in Moberly arrested a man for breaking into a home.

They were called to North Ault, where they saw the suspect run in a back door. Police went in and found 34 yearold Luke O’Banion — hiding in a close — with a woman. O’Banion had an outstanding warrant. He is also charged with burglary and drug possession.

The woman was charged with tresspassing

Transgender Sports Bill Has GOP Support

The leader of Missouri’s state Senate says Republicans are unified on the idea that only girls should play on girls teams and they support a bill that would prevent boys who think they are girls from taking part in girls’ sports.

A long hearing on the issue this week, it lasted for hours. But the bill is considered likely to pass.

Senate Republicans also support the idea that anyone under 18 should not get surgery to help in the sex change process

Guilty Verdict In Kirksville Triple Murder

Guilty of murder and kidnapping. A judge yesterday declared Ray Rijos guilty in a Kirksville triple-murder that happened in 2021.

Rijos found guilty of killing an18 month old, Parker Sizemore, along 22 year old Braxton Cottrill and 18 year old Alissa Anders.

Ander was pregnant — her child delivered before she died.

Rijos charged in the killings along with AJ Glover. The attack happened at a Kirksville apartment.

Glover’s trial is later this month.

Rijos to be sentenced in March. Rijos opted for a bench trial which means a judge decides guilt or innocence rather than a jury.

State Vs Dollar General For Jobs

What’s better: working for the state of Missouri — or working at a Dollar General Warehouse?

Well, state budget director Dan Haug says that based on pay, Dollar General is a better deal. The state is struggling to keep workers who leave for better jobs. The governor wants to give state employees an 8.7% raise.
That’s on top of 7.5% last year.

Haug says that pay hike last year helped lower turnover a bit — but with companies such as Dollar General giving 20% raises — .the state has to do more — or face losing more workers

Pump Pain: Gas Jumps 19-Cents

Big jump in gas prices. AAA says the average in Missouri is $3.12 a gallon — up 19 cents in a week — and up
44-cents in a month.

Adair county is just under the state average at $3.08 a gallon. Macon county at 3.10 a gallon.

Inching Up: Gas Prices

Gas prices going back up…according to AAA.

Adair county…$3.09 a gallon…that’s also the average statewide. But that’s a jump of 38-cents a gallon in Missouri in the last month.

Some experts talking about the possibility of $4 a gallon toward summertime.

A Plan To Spend Hundreds Of Millions on I-70

Improving I-70. Gov. Parson wants to spend nearly $860 million to widen and improve the Interstate focusing on suburban Kansas City, the Columbia area and St. Louis near Wentzville.

One plan calls for getting rid of all of the traffic lights in Columbia where I-70 meets US 63.

Easy To Steal — Hyundai and Kia Cars. Cops Say Beware

They call themselves the Kia boys. Car thieves who learned on Tik Tok how to start and steal a Kia or Hyundai that made between 2011 and 2021.

Cops in some Missouri cities say that if you have one of those cars, keep it in a locked garage or put a lock on the steering wheel. Or, consider getting a car that’s not so easy to steal.
