Two people with moderate injuries in a wreck Saturday evening on US 136 in Linn county. The Patrol says 19 year old Kasey Jaidrian failed to yield and his truck was hit by an SUV. Jaidrian had moderate injuries and so did a passenger in the SUV — 46 year old Amy Frye of Kirksville. The SUV driver, a 70 year old woman, had only minor injuries.

Novinger With Big Shopping Plans For Nov. 19th
Planning your Christmas shoping? Remember, Christmas in Novinger is set for Saturday the 19th.
Over 120 booths with all kinds of crafts and gifts will be set-up in three different locations in town.

Covid Cases Down Again
Covid cases continue to decline in Adair county. In the latest 7-day period that ended Monday, there were 24 cases reported. That’s three fewer than the previous week. The health department says the trend is moving in the right direction.
Numbers In On Hunting Gobblers
Turkey numbers. Missouri hunters bagged just over 18-hundred turkeys during the firearm turkey season last month.
33 birds taken in Adair county. Linn county had 13 birds. 11 in Sullivan county; 20 in Chariton; and 23 in Livingston.
Top counties: Franklin with 70. Gasconade with 52 and Laclede with 50. Archery turking hunting is going on now through November 11th.
Police Chase Nabs Kirksville Woman In Stolen Truck
A Kirksville woman was arrested Friday night in a stolen truck after speeding away from police.
26 year old Jeanne Sumerix was spotted veering into the wrong lane of U.S. 63. But police say that she would not stop for a blue light.
There were sparks seen coming from the wheels of the truck and officers determined it was stolen. Summerix was finally stopped after a Schuyler county deputy used spike strips to flatten the tires.
She’s charged with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle — and Resisting Arrest/Lawful Stop.
Halloween Tips From The State Patrol
Time for Halloween. The State Patrol reminding moms and dads to keep a close eye on little trick-or-treaters.
Remind children to approach only familiar houses that are well-lighted. Be sure to tell them to never enter a stranger’s house or vehicle.
Also, consider trick-or-treating with your children for their safety. And, have the kids wear a light-colored costume so drivers can see them, or add reflective tape to dark costumes makes them visible.
Guilty Plea In Shooting Of Deputy
A Moberly man admits shooting a deputy earlier this year. Jason Garner pleaded guilty to grabbing a gun from a Randolph county deputy, then shooting the officer in the leg. Sentencing at a later date.
Honor For Local Doctor
A Memphis doctor will serve as first vice president on the board of trustees for the American Osteopathic Association. Jeffrey Davis received the appointment.
He continues to practice part-time at Scotland County Hospital and Clinics and he serves as Medical Director of Lancaster Medical Services and Edina Medical Services
Going Up: Natural Gas Prices
Natural gas bills for Ameren Missouri customers will increase starting November first.
Ameren says the rate hike is needed because the wholesale cost of natural gas is going up.
So for customers, the rates will go form .93 to .95-cents per hundred cubic feet.

Decked out for the kids. A new SUV driven by the Kirksville police school resource officer has something cool to go along with the blue light. The hood is covered by a Kirksville Tiger decal.
The vehicle to be driven by officer Rich Harden as he works in schools. SRO’s help provide students with positive interactions with police. Deputy Chief Justin Jones said he wants kids to see this new SUV and say, “There’s my friend from school, Rich”
