The City of Kirksville says Mill and overlay work on East Hamilton Street, from Jamison Street to South Cottage Grove Avenue, will continue into this week. The street will be closed to through traffic on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, for paving.

GOVERNOR SIGNS 31 BILLS

The 4th annual Kids Mini Mud Mile! Children ages 3-15 can embark on a 1-mile mud-filled obstacle adventure right here in Kirksville! The run will take place Saturday, August 12th, 2023 at the North Park Sports Complex.
COUNTRY DANCE
Kirksville Parks and Recreation is partnering with NEMO Country Dance Club and the Kirksville Loyal Order of Moose Lodge to bring you the 2023 Country Fall Dance. The event will take place at the Kirksville Moose Lodge from 8-11pm on Friday, September 8, with live music performed by The Silverado Band.
TINY TIKES SOCCER
The City of Kirksville’s Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for the Tiny Tykes Soccer program. Tiny Tykes Soccer is an exciting and engaging four-week program, for children ages 3 through 5, that teaches soccer using play-based learning.
Tiny Tykes Soccer will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting September 19, 2023. Registrants will choose either a 4:30 pm to 5:15 pm session, or a 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm session when registering online at parks.kirksvillecity.com or in person at the Kirksville Aquatic Center, 801 E. Mill St.

For 40 years, the “Fiske Guide to Colleges” has chosen a select group of schools based on academic quality and affordability for its best buy list. GOVERNOR SIGNS ORDER FOR DISASTER RELIEF
State relief may be coming soon to parts of Missouri that have been affected by recent severe weather.
Governor Mike Parson signed an executive order late last week to give relief to counties north of Kansas City and northwest of St. Louis. Those include Ray County, where an EF-0 tornado damaged homes Friday evening. Large areas of damage were also reported in Knox County, were an EF-2 tornado hit, also on Friday night.
SCHOLARSHIP BEING OFFERED
According to moberlymonitor.com, applications for The Charles L. and Virginia S. Rothwell Continuing Education Scholarship are due August 31 for the fall semester.
Applicants must be a resident of the Westran or Higbee School districts. This scholarship is for continuing education and may be used for undergraduate or graduate classes.
A student must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. to apply. Applications are available at the Huntsville branch of Central Bank.
