Macon Woman Wins $10,000 in MO Vaccine Lottery

A woman from Macon won $10,000 in the Missouri Vaccine Lottery. 64-year-old Janie Parton received her first dose of the Moderna vaccine at the Scotland County Hospital on February 2. She received her second dose at SCH one month later, and recently received her third shot, a booster, also at SCH. Parton, who says she has friends on ventilators, has offered to give half of her winnings to a family member in hopes of enticing them to get vaccinated. Back in July, the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services partnered with the Missouri Lottery to give out the awards of cash or education savings. In total, the state will award 900 individuals throughout the incentive program.
